There is more than one artist with this name. 1) Clang are a rock band consisting primarily of of Paul Reller, Corey Jane Holt, and Andrew Irvine. The band released three albums: Lovey-Dovey (1989), Pol Pot Pie (1992), and The Curse of Clang (1996). They also performed with Tiny Tim on his album Prisoner Of Love. --- 2) Clang is an instrumental musical project that first surfaced around Atlanta in 2004. After playing for several years in various punk and funk bands, Clang changed direction and started creating music at home on a computer with other various methods of instrumentation, including synthesizer, electric and classical guitars, bass guitar, live drums, marimba, maracas, vocals, MIDI samples, pots and pans, cats and dogs, trashcans, anything around the house that will create sound. Throughout Clang's existence, the member(s?) have maintained a secretive and reclusive style. To date, Clang has not performed music at any venues outside of the home, nor released any albums on any Earthly label. There is good reason for this, in that Clang is not considered by conventional definitions to be a "master" musician, or even a "talented" one. In fact, the only listening audience that has ever witnessed the aural dabblings of Clang are close personal friends that can only be said to be in the right place at the right time. Clang's music is supposedly influenced by a number of relationships and experiences, such as NES video gaming, Pink Floyd, Japanese dance clubs, Four Tet, Chicago Cubs baseball, The Fucking Champs, Wilco, the functional art of Jerome Baker, Air, the Postal Service, and setting the Illinois State Record for consecutive pogo-stick jumps at the age of 7.
