Denise began piano lessons at the age of five. As a teen, she often accompanied her father, also an accomplished pianist, on gigs playing duets with him and filling in during breaks. She attended Maryville University, St. Louis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy, and Hope International University, California, earning a Master of Arts in Psychology. Denise wrote her first original piece at the age of fourteen and has been composing ever since. Her first album Time Alone is a self-produced compilation of music she composed while in school working through her undergraduate studies and early career as a music therapist. . Will Ackerman contacted Denise and in 2006 produced her next Album. The result of those recording sessions in Vermont was the critically acclaimed and award nominated album “Something You Dream Of…” featuring two Grammy Award winning artists, cellist Eugene Friesen and Will Ackerman himself contributing his signature guitar work to a few tracks. The album was engineered by Grammy Award winning recording engineer, Corin Nelson. from deniseyoung.com/about Read more on Last.fm.
