family vision care – back on the right track 12 years after the last studio sessions, there are news to announce about Family Vision Care: The band was fathered by Thomas Berghaus as a studio projekt in 1993. In the end of the same year the first album »Family Vision Care – Same« came out on Unique Records (UTR CD 1.21). The first Cologne band incarnation played some live gigs – for example as the warm-up-band for »Mother Earth« (Acid Jazz Records). In 1994 the New York Soul Singer Gary Harrison and Thomas Berghaus met for the first time and some never published songs arose. Nowadays Thomas Berghaus works as a communication advisor and graphic designer in his own advertising agency – besides his function as a musician and producer. Along with Gary Harrison and a couple of guest musicians he is now working on new material for Family Vision Care. Furthermore as a DJ he presents Modern Jazz, Neo Soul, Northern Soul and handpicked Pop pearls in his »Blue Sessions«. Gary Harrison , originally from New York, lives in Cologne since nearly 20 years and is the projects voice. Predominantly it´s him who writes the vocal parts of the songs. Fraught with enthusiasm both – Berghaus and Gary Harrison – are working on brand new material. Combining more than four decades of experience concerning good music, both are rid of all conventions and ever and anon upcoming music machinery trends. Whereas in the 90s Acid Jazz was all the range, currently only one thing is important: honest emotions, pure Soul and infernal groove. In times of digital sequencers and music primarily thought about in patterns, they both are not afraid to use these new techniques. However Family Vision Care is still trying to charge their songs with all of what forms their sound and songs: Veracity and an almost infinite pool of moods and emotions. www.familyvisioncare.de Read more on Last.fm.
