FIRE▲L (Fire-al [ˈfaɪə(r)(ə)l] "fire all" with end like "imperial" Combine grunge, industrial rock and nu metal with darkstep, retro computer sounds and killer melodies – and you get FIRE▲L, the Imperial Forces of Fire [IFF]. With their latest album The Dark Side, FIRE▲L presents you a new genre of quality music called Imperial Rock that crushes the walls of sound with sensitive pop aesthetics and hits you in the head with hooks that stick there for good. The Dark Side contains dark and majestic songs with cryptic lyrics such as “The Imperia” and “The Nibiru”; straightforward catchy rock songs with fiery energy like “Halo” and “Breathe”, and the emotional, fragile stories of “Ariel” and “Joy” that let you inside the cold, black surface of these hooded men. It’s a solid manifestation of mundane intervention in divine affairs that serves you a healthy dose of emotion, excitement and soothing sonic sculptures, delivered by decibels to enjoy, consume and indulge in over and over again. Steeled with tears, burning with flame red fury and dark energy, FIRE▲L pierces your eardrums and hearts, leaving no living soul cold – be they in the shivering pits of Hell or the blizzards of the Arctic Circle. [History] The idea of FIRE▲L was born in 1999 when singer-songwriter Caleb Daniel Lit started working on a vision he had of music that combined different genres with computer sounds [Amiga 500, .IFF]. Ten years later he found himself having toured all around Finland and opened for Finnish rock giants [HIM] with one released album [Burns Inside], prize for the Best Nordic Song in NRJ Radio Awards [“Fate” with Ana Johnsson in the movie Jade Warrior] and another album on its way. Caleb started exploring the darker tones of his music while venturing deeper into the philosophy of the Sith [Star Wars] until he found himself at the birth of a new genre: Imperial Rock. 2009 also marked the ending of an era with his second lineup [Bleak] but Caleb quickly recruited new band members – or the Imperial Forces, as he would have it. While creating the new, Caleb kept with him the debut album and his trademark, the fire logo “Pyro”. To honor the paragon of his past [Deftones], Caleb chose a name for the band: FIRE▲L was born. Word got out of this band of elite musicians and it wasn’t long before FIRE▲L performed in the Lost in Music Festival and once again as the opening act for HIM in Helldone Festival 2009. The next year saw them sign a record deal with Warner Music Finland and begin the recording of their new album. FIRE▲L also featured in the Finnish movie Priest of Evil [Harjunpää ja Pahan Pappi] performing “The Imperia”, and the music video of their first single “Halo”, one of the most played songs of 2010 in Finland, was shot on set. In 2011, Caleb revealed having been the first Finnish person to work with a renowned producer [Max Martin] on their second single “Breathe”. Preceding the release of the new album, the ballad “Ariel” reached number 1 and stayed on top of the radio YleX Himotuimmat [Most Wanted] chart for many weeks. Finally, the new album “The Dark Side” was released. The album was highly acclaimed by critics and received several four and five star reviews. FIRE▲L continued touring until the Autumn of 2011 when, after working relentlessly on the record and touring, Caleb pulled the band on a touring break. In 2012, FIRE▲L parted ways with Warner Music Finland and started working on the new album "LITƎ" that is destined for release in Spring 2013. Read more on Last.fm.
