IHVHLXXII plays dark ambient music. It's first album, Shemhamphorash, was influenced by the Cold Meat Industry, weird and dark. The music was a reflection of the exploration in philosophy. The later works of IHVHLXXII are more emotional, obscure and gloomy. Their music comes with a deep philosophical and historical origin. The music shifts from ghostly and heavy Dark Ambient with insane Chinese screams and ramblings, to guitar-based and percussive pieces, to melancholic Neoclassical compositions. IHVHLXXII are building their own mythical empire of melancholy, isolation and exquisite rumbling soundscapes. IHVHLXXII is the first Dark ambient group in China. The name of IHVHLXXII contains the following legends: before Jesus Christ was born, there are four holy Hebraic icons, that were worshiped by ancient Greek and ancient Egyptian. If translated into modern language, those four icons are IHVH... No one knows their full meanings, however, their enchantment in theology and occultism. They combined the power of philosophy and witchery, and influenced the occultism in the era Revival of Learning, in which romanticism prevailed. For thousands of years philosophers and wizards had been exploring the meaning that the icons stand for. IHVH has different meanings in different orders, it forms four basic elements of the world in the philosophy of ancient Greece. IHVH stands for fire; HIHV stands for earth; HVIH stands for water, and VHHI stands for air... Every Hebraic letter has a value, and the total value of IHVH is 72. - (Which is what the LXXII adds up to, on the end of the bands name) All music is composed, arranged and performed by Saaroth. Recorded, mixed and masterered at Ekishngal studio by Saaroth during the years of 2001 and 2002. Read more on Last.fm.
