There are two artists with this name [1]Jay Paul Gordon (born January 30, 1967) is a musician and producer. Originally from the Excelsior District of San Francisco, California, Gordon is the vocalist in the synth-industrial band Orgy, which rose to prominence through their signing to Korn's fledgeling label, Elementree Records, their appearance on the first Family Values Tour, as well as due to mainstream reaction to their cover of New Order's signature song, Blue Monday. His enigmatic, glam-styled appearance and energetic stage presence have been major factors contributing to his popularity, turning him into a pop music pinup of sorts. He previously worked as a musician with the bands Lit and Deadsy, and had collaborated with a few other popular rock musicians on a project called The Wondergirls. He has collaborated with several musicians during his musical career such as Jonathan Davis of Korn and the bands Crazy Town, Coal Chamber, and Linkin Park. Most notably, he has worked extensively with Coal Chamber as the producer of their first self-titled album. Gordon and Coal Chamber's Meegs used to share an apartment before their respective bands grew in popularity. He is also the lead singer of the band Hello Machine (formerly Machine Gun Orchestra). [2] Jay Gordon is a blues performer and composer. The biographies of Jay and his band members (The Penetrators) are below. And you can also see the band on Last.fm here: 'Jay Gordon and the Penetrators' JAY GORDON LEAD GUITAR-VOCALS Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Gordon grew up in Chicago, the center of the blues world. He began playing guitar when he was nine and within three years was performing in bars. “When I was a teenager in Chicago, I was lucky enough to be around Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Luther Allison, Hound Dog Taylor and so many others. They planted the seed inside of me to always want to play the blues.” Since moving to Los Angeles in 1985, Gordon has recorded 14 CDs and 1 live DVD. He toured the world and gained a worldwide reputation, being particularly well known in Europe. He was one of 50 guitarists picked by Eric Clapton (who was very impressed after hearing one of his CDs) to perform at the Crossroads Guitar Festival, sharing the bill with such greats as Santana, Jeff Beck, B.B. King and Buddy Guy. 2009 Jay won Guitar Player of the year at the 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards. 2010 Jay has now recorded a great ROCK CD. Jay Gordon was presented his Nomination for "Americana Artist of the Year" from Al Bowman Saturday Night March 10, 2012 at the Hollywood, CA. House of Blues.
