There is more than one artist with the name Lanark: 1. Lanark, is Felix Martin and Al Doyle from Hot Chip under the moniker "Lanark" They are currently recording an album which they are hoping to release sometime in 2009. 2.Lanark is a quintet from Perth, Western Australia. Formed in 2012 after its members' seminal bands, HiHelo and All Eyes On Saturn, broke up; meeting each other in a house on the eponymous Lanark Street. Having spent much of 2013 playing live shows, the band began working on their first release. Eighteen months later, Lanark’s self-titled debut album proved to be well worth the wait – wedged between two nameless instrumental tracks lies a dreamy collection of celestial proportions to be had. The catchy riffs and delay-laden harmonies of 2013’s track 'Able Oust' make for a standout, as do the beautiful melancholy vibes of 'Providence' and grit of 'Gambler'. Sure, a ten-minute song named after a spiky mammal may be a little excessive but if it’s going to be done, post-rock songsters take note: this is how it’s done. 2. Another band by the name of Lanark is an electronic/experimental musician based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His music range from pure electroacoustic to classical music deviations made of synthesizer sounds. Has been said about his music: "Lanark blends synthesisers and traditional sounds. For example, The analog synths in Chopin Bee and Bach Bug are complementary to the material, and so are the blend of synths and traditional orchestral sounds in Grieg Roach.
