-BIOGRAPHY- Born in 2000, Zeroin started its activity as an experimental project, aiming to find an original way to make electronic music and alternative rock merge together on a dark background. The very first sound of the band was deeply linked to the electronic genre. Still including a wide use of drum machines and samplers that sound progressively develop into something different, with the introduction of unconventional guitars and vocals. The band soon created its own small but well-equipped home-studio called Merrick’s Lab and was able to record the first four-tracks self-produced demo by December 2002 (Zeroin, Self-Produced, 2002). During 2003 and 2004 Zeroin worked hard into the studio trying to find more than one new direction through which develop its own music, playing the first important gigs outside of the region, supporting other bands or as headliner. It was the most experimenting period, and every single new song was deeply studied and rearranged more than once: the result has been Sophisticated, self-produced promotional CD, which by the end of 2004 received very positive comments by the most important national webzines, helping the band to start some fundamental collaborations and opening the shows of bands like GF93 and Mellowtoy. The project enjoyed the contribution of other absolutely skilful artists of the local scene: it’s in this period that Bonny became the band’s official artwork creator. After a long period of style research, during which every side of its own musical personality has been tested, by 2005 project Zeroin was definitely matured: an interesting amount of new material was created in few months. After listening to some demo samples Carlo Bellotti, GF93’s singer and main figure of Alkemist Fanatix Agency, enthusiastically joined the project as manager and promoter. In the meantime Zeroin toured the Italian Peninsula in support of artists like Gary Numan, Susan Acid and Addiction Crew. Thanks to Carlo Bellotti the band started an important collaboration with Subsound Studio at the end of 2006, which culminated in Zeroin’s signing with Subsound Records in April 2007. The debut LP, called “The Death Of A Man Called Icarus” has been mastered by Jesse Baccus at West West Side Studio (New York) in May and is going to hit the stores on September 10th. http://cdbaby.com/cd/zeroin http://www.myspace.com/zeroinband Read more on Last.fm.
